We’ve outgrown our name. Our membership has expanded beyond Central Minnesota and extends from North Dakota to the Twin Cities and into Wisconsin. We need a name that fits the many communities we serve and doesn’t limit us to the Central Minnesota area.
No. We have not been sold or merged with another financial institution. We are the same credit union that we’ve always been. We are simply changing our name to reflect the communities we serve.
Employees will stay the same, and there are no layoffs as part of this name change. The same people you work with today will be part of the new Magnifi Financial organization.
Absolutely! Our full legal name is Magnifi Financial Credit Union. In many instances, you will see that name shortened to Magnifi Financial, but we are still a credit union.
Yes. The new name isn’t about outgrowing our roots or moving away from the things that are important to our team and members. It’s about helping more people gain access to our products and services.

There should be little impact on you as a member. Your account number(s) will remain the same, as will all your products and services. Your digital banking login and passwords will stay the same. You can continue to use your CMCU checks until they run out. New debit and credit cards will arrive in your mailbox in the coming weeks; activate them right away and begin using them! Yes, you can continue to use your CMCU checks until they run out. “Magnifi Financial” will be printed on your new checks after placing an order.
Yes, you can continue to use your CMCU debit and credit cards. In the coming months, you can expect to receive a new debit or credit card in the mail from Magnifi Financial. Once you activate your new Magnifi Financial card, your old CMCU card will no longer work. Update any card payments associated with your old cards with the new card number, expiration date, and security code.
Yes, we will launch our new website, mymagnifi.org, on March 1st, 2022, along with the new name. Please use this new address to access our website and to log in to your digital banking account on your desktop computer. The website will have a new look, increased functionality, and faster load times.
Our phone numbers will remain the same. Our email addresses will change to @mymagnifi.org, and we will add the full last name of the team member. For example, "[email protected]" will become "[email protected]"
Your digital banking login information and password will not change and can be used on
our website or with the mobile app. You can log in to digital banking on our new website
starting March 1st, 2022: mymagnifi.org.
The mobile app will update on March 1st, 2022,
or within the following days. If you do not have automatic updates turned on for your
phone, you may need to manually update the app when the update becomes available. You may
see the old CMCU login until you update your app.
You will need to reauthenticate the
devices you use to log in to digital banking with a security code sent to the phone or
email on your account.
All direct deposits, payroll deductions, automatic drafts, and other ACH services are transmitted using the credit union’s routing number and your account number. Since these numbers have not changed, your payments will process without any change on your part.
You can continue to make payments as you normally would. If you use an outside bill pay service to make payments or pay by check, we recommend that you update the payee information to Magnifi Financial. If you have automatic payments set up, those payments will continue to process as normal.
Neither rates nor fees will be affected by the new name. Rates and fees do fluctuate, but they adjust in response to market conditions, not our name.
You will be able to continue to use all of your current services within digital banking as usual. The routing and account numbers will not change due to the name change.
